St. Matthew Residents Participate in Promise of Park Ridge
Just like “Cows on Parade” in Chicago nine years ago, Park Ridge will have rainbows on parade throughout the city this summer. The project, known as “Promise of Park Ridge,” is being sponsored by Rainbow Hospice, and was installed June 21. St. Matthew residents are participating by decorating one of the 7-foot rainbows. Park Ridge artist Pat Schuler helped residents formulate a design theme, and she is working with them in laying out and painting the colorful floral pattern. The front of the rainbow is eye-catching with bold rainbow colors. St. Matthew’s Service League helped purchase the rainbow. Residents will have outings this summer to see the rainbows on display.

Plant Sale 2008
May 9 was a chilly day for St. Matthew’s annual plant sale, but the flowers were beautiful and sales were good. Staff arrived early to help unload the trucks and set up for the sale. Social services director Megan Condon (seen above) placed annuals on the front lawn for easy identification when buyers arrived. Proceeds of the sale benefit St. Matthew’s gardening program.
