St. Matthew Center for Health
Mission Statement
We of the St. Matthew community foster a holistic path towards healing in a compassionate and nurturing environment by taking pride and ownership in the progressive services provided to our seniors.

As stated in our mission statement, our philosophy is to focus on what our residents are still able to do and the health they have versus their illnesses or disabilities. Each and every resident of St. Matthew has so much to offer; many have 80 or 90 plus years of experience. It is our job to recognize that and provide them with the opportunity to teach us and offer guidance.

St. Matthew Center for Health is on a journey of culture change that emphasizes person centered care. Relationships between the residents and staff, more choices for residents and de-institutionalization in appearance and policy are some of the issues involved.

Achievements have been made in areas of resident meals where they now have more choices of their entrees and side dishes. A dining council has been implemented as an avenue for residents to voice their preferences about menu items and to taste test future selections.
